I Am Enough

This may only be a problem with MoMs, but sometimes I wonder if I’m not as closely bonded to my bambinos as parents of a singleton are. I know I’m a great mom and I love my children to death –I would literally die for them, but I wonder if as much love as I have for them is still not as much as parents of singletons have for their one.

I see pictures of parents (ok mostly moms) whose life revolves around their one child. They do absolutely everything with that one child, they snuggle only that one child, they rock only that one child, they read  to only that one child, they sing to only that one child, they do crafts with only that one child and I’ve never been able to do that. I’ve always had two babies to split my time.

But then I realize I put myself into the Enough Trap. I’m not bonded enough, I’m not pretty enough, I’m not strong enough, I’m not healthy enough, I’m not domestic enough, I’m not clean enough, I’m not crafty enough, I’m not mom enough, I'm not bonded enough.

Stop, just stop.

I am enough.

My babies are healthy, happy and loved.

I am enough.

Finish the Sentence

I'm back Bishes! Two days in a row, that's a two week record. I was bummed I missed out on this link up last time so who was excited to see they brought it back?

This girl.

This deliriousness is making me cheesy.

Finish the sentence....
1. If calories didn't count, I would eat..candy and pizza all day long. And cookies. And ice cream. Always ice cream. I'm a fat girl at heart.
2. On my Prom night....I wasn't invited to the "cool party" so I spent time with my best friend who went AWOL from the army to go with me.
3. When I go to the store, I always buy...milk. The Bambinos go through milk like crazy. At least I'm not the milk truck anymore!
4. Family functions typically...cause anxiety or end up with in an argument. Or end up with dancing.
5. I think my blog readers...are the best ever. I've made some great friends from blog readers who comment.
6. I'd much rather be.....a WAHM.
7. I have an obsession with....so many things: trying to be a DIYer, Zumba, fonts (is that weird?) but most of all, my children.
8. My work friends....what work friends?
9. When I created my Facebook account....I still liked mysapce more. I only did it 'cause all my friends had converted. If they jumped off a cliff, I would have too.
10. My least favorite word is...See You Next Tuesday. Think about it.
11. I really don't remember....nothing. I remember everything. It's a gift and a curse; ask people who try and argue with me.
12. Justin Bieber....really is like the modern day Beatles but I wonder if he's going to plummet to his demise like Lindsey Lohan.

Bounce House, Easter Bunny & Park

What a low key weekend we had! For once, we didn't have a lot of places to go so our weekend was filled with things we wanted to do.
In the bottom picture he's copying B and dancing. I just love when he does that. And his little face!
After months of me trying to convince B we needed a trampoline, we bought the Bambinos a bouncy house for their birthday. It was finally warm enough to break it out for a little while so that's pretty much what we did on Saturday until it got too chilly for them and we had to corral them back inside. I think Peanut would have played in it all day had we let him.

Sunday after B's softball practice, we took them to see the Easter Bunny.
Since they're still kind of scared of mascots, we made it a family picture. Peanut was being so cute sitting on my lap. He wiggled over so he wasn't too close to the bunny, but he was giggling at the girls trying to distract him and get him to look at them. He's a little flirt that one is. It's crazy how much older they look compared to last year.

After the Easter Bunny, we decided to go to the park, it was such a nice day.
The park we go to is perfect because it's right by our house and there's usually not anyone else there. It's a little boy's dream.
There are sildes to play on, swings to swing on, picnic tables to drive cars on, rocks to pick up and as they're giving to dad they say, "Big, big, small," there's even an orange cone to explore!

The top right picture cracks me up. They remind me so much of little ducklings or of Abbey Road.

After the park, neither one of us felt like cooking so we went to Doofers. Bug was cracking us up because they each had a phone or Kindle to play with but Peanut wasn't too interested in his Kindle so B was letting him use his phone. We look over and Bug is sprawled out on the table trying to watch B's phone even though my phone was playing the exact same thing! I did my best to stop him but the servers were way too busy and both boys were very antsy.

Overall, I'd say we had a great weekend filled with things we did because we wanted to, and sometimes those are the best kinds of weekends.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

Life IS Delicious!

I'm back bootches! I didn't really intend to take all last week off from blogging, but I was kind of uninspired and was in one of those phases where I wonder if I'm just writing to crickets. Luckily, Jessica snapped me out of it. Also, we're planning a concert in May at work so last week was kind of nuts getting ready for the big announcement.I kept meaning to blog, but just never got around to it. I even meant to blog yesterday on my lunch break. Oops!

So what have I been up to?

1. We've done a lot of train playing.
2. Peanut kills me. This picture reminds me of Miss Lippy. In the morning when I'm doing my makeup, they like to come check out what I'm doing. I'm not quite as fun as Daddy, but I usually take a minute to tickle them with my makeup brushes.
3. OB.SESSED. I've been making silhouettes for my office.I think I'm going to start offering some in my shop.
4. I did a little texting with Micaela about the mug I got her for her birthday. Life is delicious! Such a good reminder:)

Saturday we celebrated my oldest friend's birthday. We've known each other since we were 12! Sadly, the last time I saw him was my birthday a few years ago.

This last week has been busy, but fun. How have all of you been? Catch me up!

Straight Out The Bambinos Mouth

Last week, my employee/friend (T & K's mom from the birthday party) gave the Bambinos a toy laptop that her girls didn't need. It's aimed for 4-7 year-olds so it's entirely too old for them still but they like turning it on and off, and pushing the buttons and stuff.

Bug was playing with the laptop when Peanut came over to check it out. After Bug repeatedly trying to  push Peanut out of the way, I finally said, "Bug, share with your brother please."

He paused.

Looking down at his hand he handed Peanut the Hot Wheels he was holding.

And then tried pushing him away again.

I tried not to laugh but that child is pretty inventive.

******************
Wednesday morning  I was getting Bug dressed as Peanut looked on from his crib. Peanut looked over the edge and pointed to the car in Bug's bed, "Purples."

From his perch on the changing table where I was putting on his shirt, "Oh yes, I have a purple car," came Bug's longest sentence ever.

******************

Wednesday morning Peanut was looking out the window saying, "Bueds." Right away, I knew he was saying "birds."

Then he kept saying "Gwats." That one took a little longer to get. My mom kept repeating what he was saying to herself so she could try and figure out what it sounded like.

"Grass?" I asked.
"Gwats." He replied.
This went on for awhile.

Finally, I figured it out! "Clouds?" He flashed a big smile and responded, "And Tweezies."

Oh my little ghetto baby calling trees, "Tweezies."

******************

Most of you have seen this on Instagram already, but I came back from Zumba Wednesday night and found this when I went in to use the bathroom.
At 4:30 when B got up for work, I told him, "Go look at the other toilet."
"Why, is it broken?" he asked dreading the thought of fixing a toilet at 4:30am.
"No, it's funny," and I passed back out.

A few minutes later, he came back into the room, "He was savin' them."
"It's his parking garage," and again I was out.
He told me this morning at first he thought I was talking in my sleep.

Never even considering Peanut could have put them there, we both just knew it was Bug.

I know I've said this before, but this talking stage is so fun!

I Love Your Forever I Like You for Always As Long As I'm Living

"So...can I ask you a question?" B inquired about a month ago.
"Of course."
"When are we going to stop calling them babies? They're two now, don't most people stop by now?"
"Never," I responded.

Baby. Babies. Bambinos. Baby references that period of time that is all too short in a person's life. Babies are those cute, cuddly, sweet-smelling, tiny humans that you become responsible for instantaneously. They know you better than anyone else can because they grew inside you. You know them like no one else can because you grew them inside you. Although the baby stage is short, I will forever have babies.
via
To have a baby (or in my case babies) means that you will lay down your life to protect them. It means that every decision you make is for the good of your children and you no longer make a decision because it's what you want to do or because you think it's best for you. They, quite literally, become your whole life. They are my biggest source of joy and I don't see that changing any time soon.

I dread the day when I have to let them grow and flourish on their own. I can only hope that by that time we've taught them to make good decisions, make responsible choices and to love. I know the best thing I can do for them is to learn to let go but that doesn't mean that I will stop making decisions because it's best for them or they will quit being my reason for living.

And because of that, my babies they'll be.

Plus, nothing tickles me more than walking in the front door and hearing Bug say, "Hey Baby," before I have a chance to say it to him.

Where The Wild Things Are & Gretchen Rossi

Happy Monday! To say this weekend was eventful is an understatement.

Friday night, we saw Yo Gabba Gabba Live. To be completely honest, I hate the show, but I knew the Bambinos would love it so off we went. First, we had dinner at Dragonfish, a nearby restaurant where Peanut had his first public meltdown.

The show was much better than the TV show, and I was right, the Bambinos loved it. The smiles on their face were so worth it. The only problem was that Bug wanted to run up and down the aisles. You'd think he'd be satisfied with playing in our aisle since we were the only ones in it but oh no, not my child - he wanted to run around the whole back half of the theater. Peanut was pissed that I wouldn't let him do the same and again cried at the theater. Since it was after bedtime, we left early.

Saturday, B had to work so my sister drove with us up to my cousin's for her son's first birthday. She went with the cutest Where the Wild Things Are theme. You know I refuse to show other people's kid's on my blog, but let me tell you, besides my own kids, her son is the cutest little kid. He is the most photogenic child I've ever seen in my life.
See the pillow I made? That's the one I teased on Instagram last week. It's the first thing I've ever sewn on my own and I think it turned out pretty well. Next I'm going to make one for my Bambinos too :)

Sunday I drug B back to the Northwest Women's Show (where he'd worked the day before) so I could meet Gretchen from Real Housewives of OC. She's so nice and her hair is seriously the best. B talked to Slade for awhile while Gretchen and I talked about how her brother and Peanut share a name.
And then this happened:

It's the first time a celeb has tweeted me, maybe I'm getting Micaela's Twitter Celeb Luck....?

How was your weekend?  Have you ever been tweeted by a celebrity?

Zumba-ing Alone

Thanks everyone, for your comments on my post yesterday about doing things alone. I'm happy to announce that I did go to Zumba without my partner in crime yesterday and I survived. But I learned two things....

I should quit being such a scaredy cat. Once I got into the studio, I pretty much forgot I was alone.

And the Samba is just not my thing. I was fine doing it slow but as soon as the instructor, Lori, sped it up, I looked like a goon.

Except I know I look like Jim Carrey when I samba!
