I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant

Almost 8 weeks
Would you think I'm an idiot if I told you I didn't know I was pregnant?  I'm not one of those weirdos from the show who go for 9 months and don't realize they're pregnant until the baby is literally hanging out of their who-ha. I don't get that ish. Did you think the baby moving was just gas? Obviously I don't know what it's like to have only one baby inside me, but I doubt it feels like gas.

Anyway, I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks 9 weeks. How did that happen exactly? I got pregnant on the pill for one. But here's the thing. I have a pretty flat chest so I did the thing where you would take pills continuously for three months and then stop and get your period like usual then I'd take it for another three months...you get the point. It helped my boobs get bigger temporarily. And yes that may be vain but it's the truth. So, I wasn't supposed to be getting my period anyway so I had no idea it was late.

We knew at this wedding but it was too early to tell people.
When I got pregnant, I had been doing a cleanse and eating super healthy. I was working out and was finally getting to be happy with the toning happening in my legs. The one week I started feeling really crappy (it was almost morning sickness) I thought that maybe I worked out too much and wasn't eating enough. I never actually got sick so I didn't think it was morning sickness.

Instead of waking up at 6am to work out in the morning, I was suddenly too tired. Having never been pregnant before, it still didn't click. I was gaining weight (just 1-2 pounds) but I thought maybe it was the muscle I was building. It wasn't until my boobs were even bigger than normal and a little tender that Boyfriend said, "Are you sure you're not pregnant?" I dismissed him but I started to think....I had quit taking my pills a few days before so I should have been bleeding already. I stayed up all night wondering and when he woke up (late) the next morning to go to work I high-tailed it to the store to buy a test.

I took the test at about  5:30am alone in my bathroom. Immediately the test showed a very strong, bold positive and I was overjoyed. I remember letting out the breath I hadn't realized I was holding, a big smile crept across my face and I thought, "I'm going to be a mother."

  1. What a cute and honest recap to share! I try to tell new mamas that they got half-way through their first trimester w/o even knowing it, that is a bonus! Unlike the others that are sick from day 1.
