Fascinated

Ever since my cousins bridal shower, I've been obsessed with fascinators.

She wore this adorable one at her shower. She calls it a knock-off of one Kate Middleton wore; I call it adorable.  If anyone can pull off a fascinator at the end of May in a small town in the middle of Washington, she can.

One thing you've probably noticed about me is I love themes. I love a good theme party. Or, just parties in general. Of course, weddings don't usually have strong themes but since Sarah's husband is British, why not go with that? I thought it might be fun to give a little nod to him upon dressing myself for their wedding.

At least once a week I scour Etsy to see what I can come up with.

This one reminds me....I used to play dress up with a fascinator from the 20's, I wonder where it went.

How did they get this dog to sit still and wear a fascinator?!

Perfect for Halloween?

Doesn't this girl kind of look like Sarah? And they both kind of look like the Duchess.

As you can see, Etsy has a bit of everything, you can even buy supplies to make your own. Although I'd prefer to rock one more similar in style to Sarah's, I think that it would seem like I'm trying to bring attention to myself, and I don't want to be one of those cousins.

I'm not saying these two tried to call attention to themselves on William and Kate's big day. They just happen to be Prince William's cousins like I am Sarah's

I might go with a simple flower in my hair which you can still find under "fascinators" on Etsy, but I don't really think of them as fascinators at all.

This one's kind of pretty.

What do you think? Am I the only person who thinks fascinators are kind of fun?

Will you also do me a favor and click on one of the million times I linked to Sarah's name in this post so you can check out her new blog? She tells good stories!

  1. Do it! I would love it if guests wore fascinators! I couldn't find one to match the unique color of my dress, but since I had the train cut off, I just might use some of the tulle to fashion my own! :)

  2. I say go for it! I wore a headpiece that COULD be considered fascinator-ish at my wedding, and loved it. Do it! (And share pics!!)
