I've always been a Valentine's hater. Ok, not always. It may be due to the fact that I never had a Valentine in High School, but now it's because I feel like a forced holiday to tell someone you love them is stupid. Don't get me wrong, I love Love.
I want to be loved and cherished every day.

You might argue that an outing for Valentine's Day is the same as gifts and it's still forced and to that I'd say you may be absolutely right!
But, I like the idea of experiences and memories better than gifts. None of us really want for anything so I'd rather do something together that I can take a ton of photos of. I love spending time with my family.
I mean, what else will I blog about?
What do you do for Valentine's Day? Do you have any traditions? What's your favorite Valentine's Day memory?

I'm kind of anti-Valentine's too. I'm not one for the Hallmark holidays and I don't think there should be a single day dedicated to "prove" to my husband and children I love them. Also...I'm so pissed off at Pinterest for setting the bar so freaking high for when Braden is old enough to do Valentine's for his classmates. Sigh. Maybe I'll like Valentine's Day more when my kids are older?
ReplyDeleteI am not a Vday fan at all. E gets a pass - it's like "don't acknowledge" we will just move on like the day never existed. BUT he always gets me a card and this year I got some Big Sexy Hairspray. LOL... it's the little things.
ReplyDeleteHubs and I don't go all out for V day either. We like to keep it simple.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the corporate push of Valentine's Day either but I do like the thought of a reminder to express your love to the people in your life. I think it is easy to get in the routine of life and all that mundane - it is easy to forget to squeeze in that kiss or say "I love you" and really MEAN it instead of just an auto reply.
