I can't believe you are two years old today! The joy you have brought to our lives is amazing and unequal to anything else I've ever experienced. I have some big things planned for you today, but first, let me tell you more about of the day you were born.
When we left off yesterday, Dr Wallace and another doctor had just walked in, and I was laid out like Jesus.
Maybe 4 minutes after Daddy walked into the room, they were cutting me up and bringing out Peanut. There was this big drape in front of me so I couldn't see anything, but Dr Wallace asked Daddy if he wanted to see, so Daddy peeked over the drape and watched them pull Peanut out. I asked Daddy later what he saw and he told me I wouldn't want to know but there was a lot of blood - Daddy saw my guts boys!
Daddy couldn't look for long because I kept feeling nauseous. Because of the spinal, it felt like someone was sitting on my chest and so it was hard to talk. I'd whisper, "Sick," through my oxygen mask and Daddy would tell the anesthesiologist I needed more of the medicine. Seconds later, I would feel better...I'm telling you the anesthesiologist was wonderful!
I wanted nothing more than to hold you at that instant, but I had to wait until the doctors had sewn me back up and I was transferred back to the birthing room. I couldn't wait to get the both of you exactly where you were supposed to be: in my arms.
Daddy came back to sit by me while Dr Wallace stitched me up and we listened to him talk to the other doctor about Vegas and the shows they'd seen last time they'd visited, it was just another day at the office for those two! Minutes later, the nurses handed you off to Daddy and we took our first family photos.
It killed me not being able to hold you, but I got my chance soon because all three of us were wheeled in our beds back to the original room. And I'll tell you the rest of that story tomorrow.
Happy Birthday my little Bambinos, I love you with all my heart forever and ever.
