So would it surprise you to learn that it took him two weeks to kiss me?
When I last left off, Boyfriend and I were finally dating after a really weird and awkward start.
For two weeks after our cookie date, we were pretty inseparable: we texted each other constantly, we watched quite a few movies at his house - where I made the first "move" and cuddled with him first.
But, he never kissed me.
It was starting to get ridiculous.
I always go for really confident guys so I've never had to wait so long for a guy to kiss me.
One Friday night, he asked me to come to the bar he was DJing near his house. He said I could be his "booth girl." Having worked in the nightclub industry to me booth girl=groupie. Not happenin'.
It had started to snow a bit and I don't drive in the snow but I wanted to see him bad enough that I braved it anyway.
I showed up and parked my butt on the couch onstage all night long. Because of the weather the bar wasn't super busy and I wasn't about to be the only one dancing. I think this disappointed B.
Out of wanting something to do, the bartenders brought B drink after drink...after drink.
At the end of his set, he suggested we get food. There's a Shari's right up the street so we went there. Shari's is not really fine dining but I'm up for diner food once in a while.
Over a plate of shared cheese fries, B was practically falling asleep - he'd been awake almost 24 hours!
Great, another awkward moment.
Finally, we paid and walked out to our cars to say our goodbyes.
With a little liquid courage still in his system, B finally leaned down and kissed me.
So, as I tell it B was wasted (he wasn't really) and that's what it took for him to kiss me in the middle of a Shari's parking lot.
A Shari's parking lot! That's where the magic started people.
I won't even tell you how long it took for him to make the next big move.
