Walk Beside Me & Be My Friend

I touched on this briefley the other day, but I'm really grateful for blogging lately.

When I started blogging, a girl at work was blogging and I thought it sounded fun. That's it. That's why I started.

I had no idea that I would eventually have a community of people that I refer to IRL as "friends," I had no idea that I would often turn to my blog or twitter to get advice from other mommies, I had no idea that these would be people I've genuinely come to care about, and that would come to care about me. I had no idea that I would actually meet one of my friends and would be dying to meet a few more.

I've been blogging for three years and just now feel like I'm getting what I've always wanted: that sense of community and friends big bloggers are always writing about.

Lately, people have been mentioning snippits of their life with me either through comments or emails and I love it. I love that people feel they can trust me a bit and share parts of themselves with me.

I am so humbled by this blogging experience.
You know we're now as close as these people, right?
This was totally not what I had planned for you, but I wanted to let you all know how grateful I am for you so check back tomorrow for a DIY involving this bad boy.

I love it so much more than my crayon lampshade.

So tell me, do you feel a sense of community through blogging? Have you made any friends through blogging?

You can vote daily! We're #23

  1. I def love the community blogging has become!! :)

  2. I'm just getting started, so, so far it has actually brought me closer to friends I already have, but I'm already craving more so I hope to get where you are! :) Love your blog.

  3. What a sweet post! I feel exactly the same way. I had no idea that anyone other than my family/friends would ever read my blog, and I certainly didn't imagine meeting blog friends in real life and growing so close to them. Now, some of my best friends are girls I met through blogging, as you know! It's such a blessing. I'm grateful for you!

  4. The blogging community really is fantastic and I'm not sure what I would do without it at this point.

  5. YES!! i love hearing how you started blogging. I started blogging after two big changes in my life : end of a relationship i thought was the one and a career change. I remember wanting to be honest about what i was going through incase someone stumbled upon my blog and was going through the same thing. Obviously my blog has changed over the years but there's something i miss about my writing then.

it is amazing the connections we make with otherwise beautiful strangers. I remember when a blogger announced she was getting married, i was so happy and my husband goes, "what?" and i go, "my friend is getting married!" Those two words-- "My friend" because that's how she felt! even if we had never met.

and of course you know it's even better when you do get to meet. Seriously, someday i can't wait to meet you and have that girls' weekend at Claire's. loved this post! though i can't wait to see your DIY because your crayon lampshade (and that football cake you posted on insta) was AWESOME!

ps. lindsay, THANK-YOU for playing along on my virtual play date : seriously beautiful with your twin baby bump!

  6. Thank you for the birthday wishes! Twin boys ah?? how fun! your twin belly bump is cute!

  7. I feel the same way! I had no idea that blogging was more than just writing to get out my thoughts. I never really thought about the interaction that comes from it or that it was going to lead to so many connections!

  8. I am new to blogging but love it so far. I am really trying to meet more people! I found you on Aly's page.

  9. No doubt about it!!!! I FOUND YOU, MY LOVE!!!!

I'd love to hear what you have to say, I always ALWAYS write back so please make sure you have an email attached to your profile :)
