Gettin' Dirty

For the 3rd time in 6 weeks, we went to Eastern Washington again.

On Monday, B turned to me and said, "Are we going to Eastern Washington this weekend?" I had mentioned I wanted to go back in September, but didn't know we were planning on going over Labor Day weekend. Please tell me I'm not the only one this happens to.

Luckily, my aunt and uncle were more than willing to have us come back (after a week with us a month ago, they're still not tired of us!)
It was like 80 degrees outside but Lovebug still piled blankets on himself....and found his binky. They only get them at night, but my little smarty pants found it in the diaper bag and I couldn't reach to get it away.

When we got there we stuffed our face full of food and then went to my cousin's football game.

My cousin wanted them to wear these sweatshirts. I have to say - they're pretty cute!

Saturday we went to see my grandma and then the boys came back and played basketball.

My Bambinos so badly want to be one of the "big kids" and play basketball. My cousins are so good about playing their game but still watching where the little ones are so they don't get pummeled.
Pics like this make me so happy because I realize what a good dad B will be when our own Bambinos get to my cousins' ages. My cousins get up really late (teenagers!) and B couldn't wait for them to get up so he could hang out with them.

My aunt has free ranging chickens, I have free ranging children. And this child liked the dirt!
They got baths Saturday night.

Our plan was to pack up and go see my Grandma before we left on Sunday but she ended up going to the Emergency Room. She's ok, but sadly, we only saw her on Saturday. It's okay though, we'll be back in October, I bet.

While we waited around to see how my Grandma was, my cousin pulled out a bin of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars.

My Bambinos were In. Heaven.

Seriously, you should have seen their faces when he pulled the lid off the bin. Wide-eyed and with a big smile, Bug got down from the chair he was sitting in as fast as his little arms and legs would let him.

We made sure to get some trampoline time in before we left. We seriously need to get one of our own - then they can quit jumping on my couches, their beds, pillows on the floor......

Trampoline hair!

I'm so glad our family is just a short 3 hour drive away and we have the chance to spend so much time with them. I wish I could combine my life here and life there into one (almost) perfect life.

You know what else is cool? On Friday, Mandi who is running the Epic Room Makeover Contest I'd like to win (voting starts Friday, I'd love your vote!) shared my post on her facebook page. How cool is that?! Just goes to show you how truly bad our room needs the makeover.

Three more days to enter the Birthday Extravaganza!
