Level 2 and Morning Crack

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments yesterday on my post. I wasn't trying to make a rant post; my whole point is now that I've been on the other side of anxiously waiting for a baby, I know how the others felt. I'm so grateful and fortunate to have so many people that cared about the boys.

I moved up to Level 2 of the Shred this morning. I was getting bored with Level 1and feel like I've plateaued.

I LOVE level 2. I was kind of worried after a few other bloggers mentioned how much they hate it, but I really like it. I feel like I can feel my body getting stronger already. It's also made me realize how weak my little muscles are. The hardest part for me is not the squats but all the arm moves.
Can I have that body please?

I'm getting frustrated that I'm not losing weight like I was ( I think it was mostly water weight before) and I've been meaning to start drinking smoothies for awhile so I finally started this morning. Chelsea posted about how much she loves them recently but I was skeptical. I am the world's pickiest person.
I used this recipe of pinterest and modified it just a little.

2 handfuls of baby spinach,
1 cup of chunk pineapple, (I'd prefer fresh, but had to use Dole canned)
2 bananas,
1 cup of Greek yogurt and
1 cup of coconut water.
About 6 cubes of ice
Blend well and enjoy.

This makes approximately 3-4 8oz servings so I think there's around 166 calories in each smoothie.... please do not quote me on this, I am no nutrition expert.

This is my new crack. It tastes like banana and not like spinach at all. Is it bad that at almost 10am, I've already finished two servings?

For such a picky person who would not touch Greek yogurt and would get tired of eating spinach all the time, this is a perfect way to get more nutrients in.


  1. I've been drinking smoothies, actually emulsified fruits and veggies, for breakfast everyday for about 6 or 7 weeks now. I don't eat a wide variety of vegetables so this is great for me. I cannot believe how delicious they are and how amazing they make me feel. I get up in the morning with energy and instantly ready to start the day. Recovering from cancer treatment has been a really hard road and this is exactly what my body needed to get back to normal...or I should say, better than normal. I can't recommend drinking these enough. I put ground flax seed and spinach in every drink and vary the other ingredients daily. Good luck, Lindsay!

  2. Sounds deelish!!!!! I need to step, scratch that....I need to START a better eating regimen and start working out!! Seriously, momma is getting fat. Ugh....

  3. Whoa, I just pinned the pic of that girl with the killer body to my FITNESS INSPIRATION board! Daaaaaamn. Also, good for you for loving level 2! I am of the other camp--I thought level 2 was rough. All those planks. The Shred really does work though, so good for you for sticking with it! I'm keeping up with running, though I'm nervous about today's run since it's longer. Yikes.

    I love smoothies. In fact, I recently ordered aluminum straws from amazon to drink them with. Lately I just improvise with whatever I have on hand, but I always include lots of spinach, banana, flax seed, and almond or coconut milk. I usually throw in whatever fruit I have and sometimes some frozen berries. Yum! Maybe your boys will even drink them!

    I'm back to just about zero workout, aside from the occasional surf sesh. Need to get back into something.
