True Life: I'm A Blogger

These last few weeks have been tough for me. Work has been busy and there's just a lot going on so I've barely had time to blog. I've been having issues figuring out what to write about but I thought this was a fun idea.
So here's my story....True Life: I'm a Fluff/Mommy Blogger. According to Mrs. Monologues, a fluff blogger is someone who doesn't really write. Let's face it, I write, but not about anything with a ton of substance or meaning. I write a lot about what I've done over the weekend, or what concert I'm going to, or what clothing items I covet, or about my dog, but I barely write about what I feel. Occasionally, I write about the time my best friend broke up with me, or I write a litter to my 5 year old self or even a letter to my babies, but usually I don't put it all out there. It's just too public. I usually write about heavy stuff after the fact, and I quickly gloss over it so many details you wouldn't catch unless you're really paying attention.

As much as I love blogging, the internet is a huge place and anyone can read this so that scares me. I understand I would probably have more followers if I wrote about heavy stuff more often and really let people get to know me, but, to me, it's not about the followers and I've made some amazing bloggy friends anyway. I have a private blog (even though I've let everyone who's requested read it) where I blog about my babies because at least then I know who's reading it.

That's not to say I'm not a mommy blogger, because in a way, I am. My babies are my life, my soul, my light. They are literally the reason I get up every morning and can't wait to rush home from work in the afternoon. I would be perfectly happy spending every waking moment with my babies. I shared the news with you before I told anyone at work, I've documented my pregnancy a bit and shown you a gaggle of pregnancy pictures, blogged about my baby shower, and then I blogged about their arrival here before I put hardly any photos on facebook, I write about their month birthdays, and I'm even doing a feature of different Mommy Bloggers. If the internet wasn't so scary to me, and I was trying to alienate the non-mommy readers, I would blog about my babies all day long. Oh wait. I do at my other blog:)

But really, who wouldn't want to read about these adorable faces all day?

PS
Based on the comments, it seems this post came across a little negative? I was in no way trying to imply that I mind being a fluff blogger. Some of my favorite blogs are fluff blogs and they keep me entertained. In no way was I trying to say anything negative about Mrs monologues either, I was trying to explain what fluff was in case people didn't already know. I'm a fluff and I like it :)

  3. LINDSAY! They are so precious, and this reminds me that I need to head over to your other blog immediately. Since I started using google chrome, I can't figure out how to install a "next" button, and that has inhibited my blog reading. :) They're the cutest little babies around. You are so much more than a mommy blogger--you blog about all different types of things--and I love reading every one of your posts!

  4. I just think that fluff blogging for the most part is not real writing because people don't give themselves 100% to the writing, they write with a guard...

Also, you win the award for not being a fluff blogger since you could write stuff about someone's linkup you are joining. I bow my hat to you.
