Weekend Wrap Up: Fun Day 4th of July Pt. 2

So Friday we went to an M's game, Saturday we went to the zoo and Sunday we went to a BBQ at one of Boyfriend's show hosts house:
They have a beautiful house in Issaquah and they had the most delicious food but we couldn't stay long because Lovebug had a nasty diaper that got all over his jeans and neither one of our diaper bags had extra pants or jammies in them. Brenda, the hostess, sent us home with a bag of food, including carmelita's, which inspired me to make my own once we got home. I'll post my recipe tomorrow.

Monday was a holiday, but, in radio, holidays are huge so I worked. I was only working until about 4:30 or so....so technically, we could go do something after. Boyfriend brought the Bambinos down to Tacoma where I was working, we hung out and walked around for a bit after I was off, but the little guys were tired so they got cranky. I felt bad because they came down not too long before I was off so B made the trip all the way down to Tacoma for just a few hours.
I don't know if it was because of the hit sun, or what, but I was pooped and was in bed asleep shortly after 9pm. Now, before you all skin me, I realize close to 80 is not hot, but in Seattle, summer truly doesn't start until after the 4th of July. There was absolutely no breeze so, walking the half-mile or so between the two station's booths, in the hot sun wore me out. (I'm one of the bosses, so I had to make sure both stations we work for were doing okay.) And 9pm is a record for me now days.

It's a little disappointing that we didn't see any fireworks, but with two little babies and a 9+ hours shift, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. It's funny how different my holidays have become in just a year.

So there ya have it. This weekend was super busy but super fun. It's funny because the weekend felt more relaxing. Normally, if we have a busy Saturday, on Sunday, I feel like I still need one more day off, but I wasn't feeling that way this time.

How was your 4th of July? I've read a bunch of people's recaps, but I'm still trying to catch up with this week - Monday threw everything off.
