Do You Flokati

Our house needs rugs bad.
I feel like rugs (and curtains) really finish a room off
and add that final exclamation point to a room.

With hardwood floors and babies that will be crawling in a few months
I've been scouring the internet for rugs for the nursery and the living room.
I like the look of flokati and have read so much about them on other blogs
that when I found a company willing to send me color samples
I couldn't wait until they showed up in the mail.

Except, now I'm not so sure.
They're nice and fluffy
but seem kind of rough
I'm not sure it's something I'd like to sink my feet into every day
or let the babies crawl around on.

Which brings me to my question:
Do you floakati?
Are they softer than the samples seem?
Do they somehow soften up over time?

I love the look of them but am just not sure....
I want something big and fluffy
I'm even considering shag

  1. I have a Flokati in my living room... I thought I would LOVE it. I don't. IT SHEDS SOOOO BAD. With a baby, I'd say NO WAY. Seriously I have like tumbleweed rug balls floating around my house everyday. And like you said, it's not very soft!

  2. They look good. But it seems that Miss Chelsea knows more than I am voting to skip em. Try the shag....oh yeah baby!!!! ;-)

  3. I had never even heard of flokati, so obviously I'm no help. I like soft, but I don't like anything that has long fibers, cause I feel like dirt and yucky stuff will get caught in there.

  4. I love those! But I agree with Chelsea

  5. If your babies are anything like my boy, they'll be trying to EAT that rug while they're crawling around. Especially if it sheds like others are saying.

  6. I've always seen those rugs and loved them. They look so soft and cushy. Too bad their really not. Bummer! Looking to forward to seeing what you find is a better replacement.

I'd love to hear what you have to say, I always ALWAYS write back so please make sure you have an email attached to your profile :)
