I Would Die For You

Before you were born, I loved you
Before you were an hour old, I would die for you

I think I want this in the babies' room. I'm thinking of making some kind of sign with this on it, what do you think? I'm not sure I want to mention dying in the nursery....

Thank you for all your well wishes yesterday, I'm so incredibly excited to meet them, although I will miss feeling them move inside me. I do have to admit, I'm kind of scared though. Everyone keeps telling me they're surprised at how calm I am for having twins. It's not the having two babies at once that scares me. I don't know any better. I don't know how much harder twins are than just one baby, and I worked with drug addicted newborns for five years. No, it's not the having twins that scares me.

It's the c-section.

I've never had major surgery. I was even awake when I had my wisdom teeth pulled (I wouldn't recommend it.) Boyfriend keeps telling me to remind myself that c-sections happen all the time, they have plenty of experience. I get that. But still I'm scared. With my over active imagination, I know that every little sound or thing the doctors or nurses say, I will think that something is going wrong. I just wish you could push my belly button and the babies would come out like my little sister used to think when she was little.

  1. Girl. I had a c-section. So, if you want any advice - let me know! Now, granted...mine was an emergency c-section, but still cut across no less. I know you will be fine. I am gonna start praying for you and the babes now!!!

p.s. LOVE the belly button comment...too sweet (and funny)

  2. Are they making you have a c-section or what? I was so very happy with my vaginal birth and was back to 100% in like a week. I was terrrrrified of even the thought of a c-section!

  3. Lindsay-I have missed you!!! Are you on facebook? Please add me Juliana Maria King. I am so happy for you baby!!!!

I know this is all a scary time. People say that c-sections happen all the time but it is major surgery and you have every right to feel how you feel. BUT you will be ok. I promise.

You want your boyfriend to help distract you and maybe even sing to you or use an ipod while you are laying there. You will feel cold but nothing else. There will be a some tugging and one point there will feel like something is on your chest. Then you will hear those amazing cries and you will be a MOMMY! You will be so overwhelmed with love that everything will then be about mommyhood. A few tips...don't have anything cool or cold to drink until you pass gas. Sounds funny but it's true. When you get up do not do ANYTHING yourself. Have bf and nurse, family do all the work. Just lay like a ragdoll and they will pull you to a sitting position and then put your legs over the bed. This will help you alot and you'll bed up sooner. Recovery is much easier than you think and you'll be back up in no time:) I am so happy for you!

  4. I would be scared too!!!!! I know everything will be amazing though! You're amazing! And I do know, 100%, that you're going to be an amazing mom!!!

  5. why's it gotta be a banana getting "c-section" though? ;)

  6. Haha, didn't even think of that Mayra! I just looked up surgery on the website and that was one of the only non-gory ones.

I'd love to hear what you have to say, I always ALWAYS write back so please make sure you have an email attached to your profile :)
