Top Two Tuesday

Wow I'm actually participating in Top 2 Tuesday! This week's theme is Top 2 Cities so mine are:

Lahaina, Maui

From the very first time I visited Maui, I felt like I was home. At one point, I wanted to finish my last two years of college in Hawaii (wouldn't that have been fab?!) I plan to make enough money that my husband and I can have a home there someday.

Phoenix, Arizona

I haven't been to a ton of places, but when I went to Phoenix a few years ago, I had so much fun! I seriously thought about working for an airline so I could travel more.

The First Kick!

Two nights ago, Boyfriend felt his first kick! I've been feeling light rumblings for a few weeks now but until Wednesday night I couldn't feel anything from the outside of my stomach. Laying in bed, I put my hand on my right side and I could feel a kick in my hand! I told B who promptly put his hand in the same spot and he felt the teeny tiny little thump! It's nothing too strong, but he felt it! And from Baby B!
NOT my stomach, but how cool is the foot imprint?! via

Baby B is the one I constantly worry about because I feel more rumblings from Baby A and Baby A measured just a bit bigger when we had the last ultrasound. I feel like Baby A is a little heartier and will be okay no matter what. So of course I was thrilled when Baby B kicked hard enough for Daddy to feel it. What we do? We facebooked it of course! (And then B made fun of us for facebooking while we're right next to each other.)

Lady Gaga Concert

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've blogged! Oops! Well, last Saturday I worked the Lady Gaga Concert at the Tacoma Dome. Look at the amazing Drag Queen my station brought!
Look at how gorgeous his best friend is! She sued to play Marilyn Monroe in this popular (mostly) drag show in Seattle. The Queen we brought in plays Lady Gaga and Liza Minelli.

These following pictures I took from Robbie turner, the Queen :)
I'm not sure how I feel about this hairy lamp shade getup.
A hairy penis?!

It was a loooong day but fun. We also painted lightning bolts on listeners faces a la this picture:
Don't forget! The last day to enter the giveaway is tomorrow! A winner will be picked Monday!!!

It's my Birthday! Let's Have a Giveaway!

Tomorrow is my one year Blog-aversary and I don't blog on weekends (plus, I'll be working the Lady Gaga concert) so my giveaway starts today!

Once again, I was contacted by CSN stores to host a review or a giveaway. I considered just for a minute  doing a review but figured I'd much rather do a giveaway. I've kind of got furniture on the brain since I will soon be moving in with B and have to make his house feel like a home (he's tried, but in the middle of so much remodeling, he's decided not to do much.)

Anyway, I first looked for  Dining Room stuff because the dining area needs serious help. He has two decent dining tables but his chairs could use slipcovers. Look what I found!

Love these chairs!

Okay okay so I'm sure you want to know what you win. One lucky winner will win a $40 gift card from CSN Stores!
The dirt:
You have to be a public follower of my blog to win.
1 Entry -  leave a comment on this post telling me you're a follower
2 Entries  - Like me on Facebook and facebook about the giveaway. Leave a separate comment letting me know you did so.
3 Entries-  follow me on twitter and tweet about this giveaway. Leave a separate comment
4 entries - blog about it. Leave a separate comment.
5 Entries - Figure out some other creative way to spread the word. Leave a comment

*You can facebook, blog and tweet about it as much as you want to, just leave me a comment each time letting me know you did it.

The contest ends Friday, August 27th, you have one week!

Boyfriend's Surprise for Us

I just realized i never told you what Boyfriend's surprise for us was....it's more for him really, but oh well.

He bought a big screen, HD, TV off Craigslist! He couldn't resist because it was such a good deal. I didn't know we were looking for a TV, he can't wait for football season.

Why Is Baby Bedding So Hard to Pick?

Saturday my sister and I went to look for bedding. I can't decide whether or not we need to paint the walls until I know what bedding I want. I LOVE the gray walls and white crown molding currently in the room, but I also really like tan bedding.

Obviously, I can't completely pick out the bedding until I know what I'm having (hopefully next week!) but I wanted to get an idea of what's out there. I don't want the bedding to be too babyish, so here's a few I found that I like:
I LOVE the mix of blue and tan in this one. I'm pretty sure at least one baby is a boy but I could make this girly if I needed to, right?
If we had one of each, I could do one green bedding and one pink bedding.
Again, one pink and one green. The sheets on this one are pretty fun.
I really liked this one when I saw it at Babies R Us but my mom said it looks kind of country. And I'm not a fan of country looking things. Not for my house at least.
If I did this one, I could keep the gray walls, but it's kind of too....green and too boring. I'd probably try and find some sheets with gray in them.

I'm so indecisive, I really hope knowing the sexes will help.

We DID end up buying a tan recliner Saturday too. It's not the cutest but it's SUPER comfy and $300 off! The arm rests open up so we can put burp cloths and stuff. Plus, it vibrates, (tacky I know,) I'm hoping we could use the vibrate function to put them to sleep rather than driving them in the car in the middle of the night.

My mom says we could make tan and gray work, but again, everything depends on the bedding.

First Baby Purchase!

Friday my sister alarmed me by telling me Babies R Us was closing. Since the crib I wanted was from Babies R Us, B and I rushed over there after I got off work. Sadly, they didn't have the one I wanted, but we got this one instead:

I'm not completely in love with it, but it wasn't terribly expensive and it would look okay if we ever decided to use it as a daybed or full size bed like it's meant to.It's funny how everyone looked at us funny when we told them we needed two.People don't always think twins.

Saturday my sister and I went to look at bedding.....but more on that tomorrow.

I Hate When Boyfriend Does This....

Boyfriend just sent me the above picture with the title "Surprise for Us" but what the heck is it?! that's not his truck, so I called him to see who it's from. He siad he bought it for us, but that's all he'll tell me.

It's definitely not a puppy and it looks kind of flat. We bought two cribs this weekend but I know it's not  a mattress. What do you think it is?

Eat Pray Love

Last night, one of B's shows had a screening party for Eat Pray Love. We started out at Lucky Strike for free food and raffles and then went upstairs for the screening. (I never knew Lucky Strike had such good pizza's btw, if you have one in your area, go try the pizza!)

Overall, the movie was very good although I liked the book better (don't I always?) But of course, the whole book had to be condensed down to only two hours. The set locations were amazing, Ketut, the medicine man was great comic relief and I will definitely be buying this movie on DVD.

Even Boyfriend liked it and until he found out his show was doing the event for the movie, he was refusing to go see it with me.

*Funny side note, the two show hosts made B come up and call out the number for the last raffle and this lady yelled, "Can we win him!?!" Sorry lady, he's taken! :)

Gender Dreams

I mentioned before that I had an ultrasound with the radiology department so they could better measure the babies and tell me exactly how far along I was. As the radiology lady was getting all kinds of pictures of the babies she asked me if we were going to find out the sex.

She told me that before there were ultrasound machines, a university or a hospital did a study of a bunch of women and the dreams they had about the gender of their fetus. Something like 95% of women guessed the gender of their babies. I was disappointed because I had not had any gender dreams. I had a dream that Baby B had spikes on its spine once but nothing about the gender(s).

Until Friday night. In my dream, I could push down on my tummy and see the babies hearts. They were a raised outline almost like a branding, and as the babies moved the hearts did too, but they were actually heart shaped with these little squigglies like this:
And then if I kind of pulled the right part of my tummy apart, I could see inside my stomach and I saw it was a little boy. I don't remember who I was talking to but it was a slightly older woman, I said, "There's a little penis in  there!" So we'll see if my dream comes true and Baby B is a boy. I can't wait to have a dream about Baby A!

Sunday we had a barbecue to announce our good friends. Our families knew, our co-workers knew, but it had been killing us to keep the secret from our friends. B made burgers and brauts and all the friends brought sides, cookies, etc.

Finally it was time to make the announcement, B thanked everyone for coming, told them we're expecting and then he took forever to announce that it's actually twins. I don't remember what all he said in between but I almost interrupted him and blurted, "It's two!" When he finally announced it's twins, we got the scream from all our friends I expected when he announced I'm pregnant. Apparently, my dress didn't hide it as much as I thought so a few people kind of suspected hence the non-reaction to the pregnancy news. And of course, just like everyone else, when he announced we have something to say, everyone assumed we're getting married.

It was a fun day and I'm happy to finally have all the news out (yesterday B texted to me, "Can I put it on facebook now?" It's been killing him to have to keep it off there!) and we ended up with waaaaaayyy too much leftover food.

Emerald Downs

The success of a radio station is determined by ratings. Our Program Director was thrilled with our latest book (a certain time period of ratings) so he treated my station to a night at the races in a private suite!

We were treated to hours d'oevures and dinner. A purse was named after our station (I'm not sure what this whole purse thing is about. I don't understand horse racing very much....especially odds. I know the purse is the money that someone gets if the horse wins, but I'm not sure who gets it.) And we got to go down to the winners circle after the race that was named after us!
Isn't Roomie adorable?
Wow I'm slouching! I need to work on that.

The best part of the night was the last race, not only because it was named after us but because Boyfriend gave me money to bet on two horses, he told me to bet on Smooch Something ( I can't remember the last part) in the 1st race and Hot Box in the 7th. Except he accidentally looked at the horses that raced last week on line. So instead, I went with the announcers recommendations and bet on the one horse they both agreed on placing in the 1st and 7th races.

My horse in the first race, Pete's Glory Girl, did horribly. I wasn't paying much attention to the last race when we were in the winners circle, but then I noticed my horse, Pete's Black Gold, was winning! Apparently it came down to a photo finish but my horse won! Boyfriend's $10 turned into $47!

I was jumping up and down screaming for my horse and Roomate just stood next to me and watched, she doesn't hear me get super excited very often and she couldn't believe nobody else was watching me.
I still don't know anything about horse racing but I do know that it was a super fun night.

I Want a New Puppy

It's no secret that I want another puppy. I keep trying to convince Boyfriend that we need to get a puppy before the babies are born so Teddy will have a playmate. I'm really concerned he'll be unhappy when he has to share my attention. Of course, B is SO against getting a puppy and I know it's not the best idea because B's house isn't that big. Four people and two dogs would just be too much, but it never hurts to look:
I've always wanted a maltese. They don't shed either (Teddy doesn't shed) so I think having a meltese would be awesome.

I've wanted a French Bulldog for a long time too, except I've heard they have a lot of health problems=high vet bills so obviously I'll never get one.

I NEVER thought I'd give in to B's desire for a black lab, but if we got a basset hound/lab mix like our low rider friend, Sherman, I'd agree. He's just so cute! AND he doesn't take up as much room.

Because I love my little Yorkie so much, I would also love to have a Yorkie/Maltese mix. I've always wanted a black dog or a black dog with a little white, look at how cute the little guy on the right is!

Of course I love my Yorkie, but I think I lucked out because he's 10 pounds (VERY big for a Yorkie.) Some of them can end up tiny and scrawny and there's nothing to really pet. And I don't want to worry about it jumping off things and breaking a bone because they're so small that I think I'll stick with just Teddy.

Obviously, another dog is out of the question but a girl can dream :)
