Blog Crush Questions - I need your help!

Remember my Blog Crush series? I spent last night emailing the people who had been nominated as somebody's crush. I realized I was basically asking them all the same questions and that's going to make the series not very fun! So I need your help? What are some questions you'd like to ask other bloggers?

The other frustration I have is some bloggers don't have an email address on their blog! Grrrr.......I guess I'll just visit all of them and ask them in a comment to email me - hopefully they don't think I'm a weirdo!

Do you have a Blog Crush? Please email them to me at If you have questions for those bloggers, please let me know!

* I disabled comments so you'll have to email me your blog crushes or questions for other bloggers, but please email me!

Don't forget about the giveaway!

Have I ever mentioned I watch a lot of "reality" TV? Not good reality TV like The Biggest Loser but crap reality TV like The Hills (not much since Lauren Conrad left,) The Real Housewives of OC, LA Ink and many others.

The other day I ran across this new show on the Style Network, Jerseylicious. It's actually.....kind of bareable. Kind of. Sometimes it's just annoying. It's the story of  a mom and daughter team who just remodeled their hair salon and the employees that work there.

The most outrageous are mortal enemies Tracy and Olivia. Tracy's a hairdresser and Olivia a make-up artist. Tracy does whatever she can to make Olivia's life a living nightmare including dating her ex-boyfriend.

The other employees are kind of ho-hum. There's Anthony the he's-gotta-be-gay-but-has-a-wife-and-kid hairstylist who's just working at the Gatsby (how high-class are they trying to be?) until his own salon is finished being remodeled.

Gigi has a sterotypical Italian boyfriend who complains if dinner isn't on the table and it's not exactly how he wants it. She dreams of marrying him soon but I don't think they're even engaged yet. His outrageout temper often gets in the way, but they do seem to be in love.

Alexa is the "Glam Fairy" she runs her own make up business and constantly talks about how she's so big, and so well-connected in New York. Then why isn't she in New York? She's training Olivia, against her better judgment, to become part of the "Glammy Squad."

It's not Jerseylicious in a GTL-type-of-way, and they don't have ridiculous nicknames, but the drama, the big hair and the incredibly smokey eye are there. Normally I watch reality TV for the clothes, but I don't think I'll get any fashion clues from this show :)

Speaking of watching TV for the clothes, don't forget about my giveaway!

Boyfriend was gone over the weekend so that meant one thing - dinner and movie night with Roomate! Roomate normally likes suspense movies so I was thrilled when she agreed to get Precious On Demand.
I'm not going to spoil the movie for you but let me tell you, it's REALLY good but a messed up movie!

And, no I didn't cook, we ordered delivery Chinese. I never knew there was such a thing until just a few months ago!

Maybe I Won't Throw Up When My Future Kids Puke

I Can't cook, I don't really like to clean and I have a really hard time dealing with anything gross. That means I'm pretty much Undomestic. I've told my mom I don't know how I'll be able to take care of my kids without rubber gloves. My first job was Chuck E. Cheese and let me tell you there's some nasty things in the ball pit.

I also worked with babies born addicted to drugs for five years. That was absolutely the most rewarding thing I've ever done. Babies go through withdrawal just like adults do. They shake (depending on the drug,) they throw up, they poop. A lot. But because we never knew what the parent's had, we always handled diapers wearing gloves. THAT'S why I don't know if I can handle my kids without rubber gloves.

But today I did something gross. I worked out and went home to relax in the bath. Suddenly, Roomate was pounding on my door shrieking. I put on my robe, opened the door, and she was literally holding her heart trembling in the corner.

Her cat had killed a bird. And the feathers were all over her room. The poor bird was still laying lifeless on the floor. Roomate apparently thought the bird was this mouse toy Teddy likes to play with so she thought he had torn it up and it was laying on the floor. She kicked the "toy" and scremed when she realized it had been alive. That's when she pounded on my door.

Roomate was in NO state to clean up after her cat. I have literally never seen her tremble like she was. So the task of cleaning up was left to me. Wait. Me? I can't even watch people throw up on TV. How am I going to clean up a poor little bird?

I grabbed a TON of napkins so I couldn't actually feel it. Then I scooped it up and put it in a plastic shopping bag. Roomate took it outside while I vacuumed up the feathers. We're both completely mortified and scarred by the situation but maybe there's hope for me afterall.

I NEED a New Flat Iron....

Remember in this post when I said my hair is my thing and I need to take better care of it? The number one best thing I think I can do for it is buy a better flat iron. Right now I'm using a Revelon and I HATE it. I had a really good one that was starting to fizzle out just a little bit, but then it completely died when I accidentally put it in my sink with about an inch or two of water in it. (I put it in the sink when I still need it on but am not using it, I figure it won't melt the counter or catch on fire that way - although I'm lucky I didn't electrocute myself that day!)

I've been looking for a better straightener for awhile but just am not quite sure which one. I keep hearing about this awesome Hana flat iron from Misikko and I'm so jealous of all the other ladies who get to review it. First Unbeweavable and then Undomestic Momma. Apparently it's amazing! But...... Undomestic Momma's giving one away! I'd REALLY like to win this, but I'll be nice and tell you to check out her blog so you can win too. If you haven't ever checked out her blog, shame on you! She's pretty entertaining and is actually one of the ones I read regularly :) Good luck!

Sex And The City 2

Is anyone else as excited as I am? I had no idea what to expect but I have to admit, I'm a little suspicious. I mean, Aiden's back. Really? Last time we saw Aiden, he and Carrie ran into eachother in the street and he had a baby hanging fron his chest. Literally. And now you want me to believe he and Carrie might be in Abu Dhabi at the same time?

AND you want me to believe that Miley Cyrus is worthy of being in this movie?! Are you kidding me? Does anyone else find this hard to believe? Oh well, I'm still excited :)

Sometimes I Wonder If.....

We're causing damage to the Earth that's causing all the catastrophes that have been happening lately. The earthquake in Haiti. The Earthquake in Chili. The tsunami in Indonesia years ago. It seems like catastrophes are happening more and more recently. I know earthquakes are caused by the plates of the Earth but what if we're doing damage to the earth and it's getting all grumbly like an upset tummy and reacting?

I've always tried to do my part and turn off the lights, unplug unused electronic devices, but I feel like I could do more. I recycle, I try and reuse. I donate my clothes rather than throwing them away, with Earth Day coming up, I feel like I could do more.

I thought it was kind of a cool idea that Cascadian Farms has different pledges on their facebook you can do and for every person who signs the pledge through May 31st, Cascadian Farms will donate $1 (up to $40,000) to the Organic Farming Research Foundation. Does anyone else worry about harming their future-children by eating the wrong things when they're pregnant? I decided to take a look and I pledged to reduce my highway driving speed. (Plus, Washington State Patrol is cracking down on speeders for the next three weeks so now I have two good reasons to so it.)

Cascadian Farms is giving me a prizepack to try some of their products (Yes! who doesn't love some healthy options right before summer?) AND guess what? Cascadian Farms decided to give me a prize pack to give away to all of you! It's a “Live Green Together” prize pack that includes Cascadian Farm cereals and granola bars, including: Fruitful O’s cereal, Cinnamon Crunch cereal, Chocolate Chip Chewy granola bars, Dark Chocolate Almond Granola, Dark Chocolate Almond granola bars, Oats & Honey granola, and an eco-friendly grocery bag.

I'm not normally a dark chocolate person, but I think I might try making oatmeal cookies with the dark chocolate almond granola. Yum!...And it will help me actually be domestic instead of Undomestic :)

All you have to do is leave a comment below. For another three entries, you can blog about the giveaway. That's four chances you have! I'll pick a winner in one week, so Tuesday the 27th. Happy Earth  (early) Day everyone!

Oh and PS
You're more likely to win if you're a follower :)

Cascadian Farms provided me with these products and the prize pack to giveaway through Blogspark....for free!

A Bevy of Beauties

My hair has always been my thing. It's my protector, my shield. One thing I can not deal with is messed up hair (bad haircuts/color.) I've always had long hair, it was typically to the middle of my butt growing up. In 6th grade I cut it to just below my shoulders and that's the shortest it had been since I was 2 years old.
You can barely see my hair almost touching my butt

When I turned 19, I decided I needed a change. I decided I hide behind my hair too much so I decided to chop it off. I found a picture of this cute, asymmetrical, angled bob. I took  the picture into Gene Juarez and had the girl cut it. And then I cried. Not cried for the loss of my hair, but cried because it was not at all what I wanted.  It was waaaaay too short and was almost shaved in back like a boy's. When I turned my head to the side, I thought I had a flip a-la Mrs. Brady ( I didn't but still...)
Plus, my hair's curly. Having my hair as short as it was in the back, it flipped out and this was before the time of teeny tiny flat irons. My point? I have since grown my hair out but haven't been taking the best care of it so I decided to change that. I mostly just wear my hair straight because I like sleep more than I like messing around with my hair now, but I wash/blowdry/flat iron it

Recently, It's Unbeweavable posted about some of the hair products she uses (and we all know she has GREAT hair!)  I was sure she used expensive products, but I was tickled to find out she uses this TRESemè Heat Protectant that she bought at Target!

You all know I love me some Target so I stopped by there on Friday, picked up some of the Heat Tamer Spray (for only $4.39. Score!) and also some TRESemme 24 Hour Body Root Booster Spray

AND also the Crest White Strips Professional Effects Teeth Whitening Kit. (They were on sale for $43 and I had a $10 off manufacturer's coupon. Double score!)

Let me tell you, I am IN LOVE. I love the heat tamer thing. I know I didn't see a difference after only one use, but my haircut is way too wispy and I'm in dire need of a cut. The layers near my face normally look like split ends, but I feel like the protectant helped tame them. And I know film isn't the right word, but it left a film on my hair that made it feel silky and healthy. I run my fingers through my hair a lot, so I was thrilled when my hair didn't look greasy by the end of the day. I even considered braiding the front of it and skipping the wash today, for just a minute. I am so in love with this stuff that I freaked a little this morning when I thought I had left it at Boyfriend's house.

The root booster thing, I'm not in love with. My hair is usually pretty flat from the weight of it (which is why I usually back-comb) so I was hoping this would help add some body and bounce to my hair, but I see nothing. I'll keep giving it a try and I realize I may need to know some hairstylist's trick to get the body I'm looking for, but I feel like this product should work for any normal person and not just professionals. And duh, I did try lifting the hair at the roots when I blow-dried, I don't expect it just to work :)

The white strips I'm not sure about yet. I'm supposed to see results after three days so I'll let you know after tomorrow. And I'm still on the hunt for an afordable deep-conditioner, I'll let you know when I find one.

What about you? What are some of your favorite beauty products?

Black Eyed Peas

Work has been crazy this week so I'm just now getting to my weekend. Friday night I don't think Boyfriend and I did much (is it bad I can't remember?!) but Saturday.....

The Black Eyed Peas! I had been looking forward to this concert for months and I knew it was going to be a long day. I had to work the concert first (oh the joys of radio,) but I was so looking forward to it. I missed openers LMFAO and showed up just in time for Ludacris.

I was sadly dissapointed in Luda's performance. It sounded like he was yelling so the sound just wasn't right. I thought they did soundchecks before hand to counter this type of thing, but he was busy doing meet and greets before hand so maybe there wasn't time or something.
I missed the meet and greet so instead I got this photo :)

The Black Eyed Peas!

My camera died.....Or I would have taken a ton more pictures :)

Current Obsession: Dresses

Do we see a pattern here?
I loved this one forever

 And then there's this one:
I don't have the figure for this one quite yet but I will soon :)
I've said before, that I'm in love with dresses. I seem to be drifting toward A-line dresses I could add a belt to. I'm so over the club scene and I have this thing about not wearing black or white to weddings. B and I usually go to low key places like a bar or Red Robin but I think we NEED to find a place I can wear one of these dresses! Oh but wait. Most of them are sold out.
